How can we protest a deviantArt policy that makes no sense?
My friend is a photographer and has a deviantArt account. As recently as a couple days agao, she had no problems. Now, however, they’ve imposed an “image must be at least 400 pixels on either side to be submitted into the photography galleries” rule. Only photos are affected, no other category has that restriction. She asked them about it, and they told her that the minimum is in place “so people can enjoy the art without any additional undue stress :)” (yes, with the smiley). They’ve yet to follow up her rebuttals, which ask why was it just now implemented and how is a photo being less than 400×400 a cause of undue stress.
Now that they have to be “wallpaper” and/or “print” size, all photos I’ve tried to admire on dA load very slowly now, so it’s actually causing me undue stress. And literally everywhere else that allows you to upload photos and artworks actually prefers that submission be LESS than 400×400 due to bandwith.
The worst thing is, this happened just when she paid for a subscription. Can she demand a refund?
Please refrain from saying she should just put all her stuff in the “scraps” section.

Photos under the size of 400 pixels, use to be 300,

sounds odd, there are images that are larger than 400×400, and high resolution ~300, also in photography section, so thee may be other parameters of image that is not allowed.

so from this, the minimum is 400, and can be larger, not smaller, though resolution can be decreased or changed for less quality to 72 or 96 if needed, at 400 pixels,
also possibly some users have pro accounts that have other privileges,
