Obama - “America was not Based on God or the Bible!”?

Obama - “America was not Based on God or the Bible!”?
Now, let us see what our Founding Fathers quoted to see if Obama is correct?
“You do well to wish to learn our arts and way of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ…Congress will do everything they can to assist you in this wise intention.” George Washington
The Congress with George Washington’s leadership sent Bibles to All American Troops and Throughout the Nation of America! He greated every ‘Head of State’, King or ? with a Bible as a gift.
“The first and only book deserving of universal attention is the Bible.” John Quincy Adams
“History will also afford frequent opportunities of showing the necessity of a public religion…and the excellency of the Christian religion above all others, ancient or modern.” Benjamin Franklin
“The Bible is the Book worth more than all other books that are or will be ever printed.” Patrick Henry
“Bibles are strong entrenchments. Where they abound, men cannon pursue wicked courses.” James McHenry - Signer of the Constitution
“The Bible…is the one supreme source of revelation of the meaning of life, the nature of God and the Spiritual nature and need of all men. It is the only guide that really leads the Spirit in the way of True Peace and Salvation.” Woodrow Wilson
The Bible is not just ‘a’ book! The Bible is a collection of 66 books written by at least 40 authors over a 1500 year period. They were All touched By the Spirit of God! The authors included were historians, military generals, prophets, kings, politicians, a doctor, a rabbi, fishermen, and even a tax collector. It was written on 3 Continents and in 3 different languages; Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic.
Jesus Himself said; “….My words will by no means pass away.” Mark 13.31.
Every Word of the Bible was inspired by God. The famous poet Voltaire sad within 100 years of his time, Christianity would be “swept from existence and pass into history.” Ye 50 years after his death, the Geneva Bible Society used his house to printing press to produce “Stacks of Bibles.” Dr. H.L. Hastings, a well-known writer, is cited saying, “If this book had not been the book of God, men would have destroyed it long ago. Emperors and popes, kings and priests, princes and rulers have all tried their hand at it; they die and the book still lives.”

everyday, Obama seems more like the AntiChrist
True. This is a secular nation. The founding fathers made a conscious choice not to mix faith and government. They were inspired by great old world philosophers (Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, etc) , not the bible.
who is the creator. its in the Bill of Rights, creator is GOD
and still it allowed for ALL other religions! It was based on FREEDOM OF ALL RELIGIONS, not just Christianity!
It wasn’t…your failure to realize it is your own problem.
America is most certainly NOT “based on God” or the Bible, either.
Just ask a Native American what he thinks about those good christian europeans….
First, if you’re going to try and QUOTE the President, you need to provide a link to a credible source that backs up your claim.
I do not believe that Obama ever said what you claim.
Please cite WHERE in The Declaration of Independence, The US Constitution or The Bill of Rights where it says the USA is a “Christian” nation.
It cannot be done.
America was founded base on FREEDOM and the CONSTITUTION
what is that sound I hear?
Oh wait, its our founding fathers rolling in their graves
Stop hitting everyone in the back of the head with your Bible. Not everyone reads it and believes in it. That is their right.
Obama Antichrist watch number 18
Yes I have counted….wow
It was not formed under God though
It was formed under Christianity but at the same time they wanted to escape persecution from The Church of England (very radical Christianity).
Most people on the left tend to neglect these facts, whatta shame
America is a secular nation that respects the right for all to practice any religion they want, even if that means no religion. Your quotes are nonsense and can be equally matched by founding fathers’ quotes (even Franklin) which made no secret about their DISTASTE for Christianity.
“Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise, every expanded prospect” - James Madison
“This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it.” - John Adams
“The way to see by Faith is to shut the Eye of Reason.” - Benjamin Franklin
It is not.
“Lighthouses are more helpful than churches.”
[Benjamin Franklin]
Thomas Jefferson basically said of Christianity:
“the most sublime & benevolent, but most perverted system that ever shone on man”
Those are personal quotes but the Constitution is secular and not based on any religion in particular.
i didn’t know that he said that but i’m glad he did.
i believe there is a God but it’s got no place in the US.
Obama is wrong. He is so wrong on so many levels.
Sorry, but the United States is a secular democracy, not based on any particular religion.
…blah blah…
THIS IS NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION, IT WAS NOT FOUNDED ON CHRISTIANITY,…..IT WAS HOWEVER, FOUNDED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.
If you can’t understand that simple truth, then I don’t see how any of you could understand any of the biblical lessons taught by Jesus to begin with….
Here’s one for you….
“Render unto Ceasar, that which is Ceasars’, and render unto God that which is his”…. - Jesus Christ
Sounds like a strong advocacy for seperation of church and state to me…..otherwise Jesus would have wanted his own face on Roman coins. Religion and government are seperate institutions and should remain so to the highest degree possible.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. - US Constitution.
That is from the same founding father’s you are referencing in your rant. Each of those founding fathers had their own opinions about religion in government….and it appears all of the people responding, as well as the person asking the “question”…. are “cherry picking” statements from different founding fathers, to reach their own conclusion about the founding father’s original intentions… what REALLY MATTERS…it what they eventually AGREED UPON…. and that is the contitutional amendment I outlined above that still stands to this day.
He only learned the communist version of history.
Everyone knew he was the anti christ when we elected him and yet people still seem surprised!
Who takes anything seriously from Obama? besides his blind followers?
If the Bible was not all-important in our beginnings, why did a self-described “Deist,” Thomas Jefferson, feel the need to write his own? lol
They are being educated in liberal (communist loving) legal schools and they are not being taught the entire story. They are being taught what they want to be true, because they are Secular Progressives and are blind to what has made our nation great and where our very freedoms (that they claim to love) came from. Our inalienable rights *endowed by a Creator* might be their first clue.
lol at “secular nation” and “conscious choice.” They made a conscious choice to not choose Baptist or Presbyterian and that’s probably about it. lol
Added: Our legal system came from the English Common Law, which came down through history via the original courts, which were Ecclesiastical. It is indisputable fact and well-documented history.
What many today are not taught is what is at its very fibre the difference between liberal and conservative, and it is in the interpretation of our Constitution and our laws. Conservatives are for strict construction and stare decisis (law is interpreted by prior law). Lilberals are for a “living, breathing document,” which is influenced by the will of the people and the winds of change (and this is completely contrary to the intent of the drafters, who never intended this nation to be a democracy).
not really a question in there, but for the record our Founding Fathers were Deists.
Okay, is this a question or a Rant?!
Yet despite our Founding Fathers being Christians, they did not trust the church to act as a part of government. The First Amendment and their letters proved they did not want a national religion established. Our country was founded as a secular one, welcoming people of all faiths.
I could quote you plenty of people who didn’t feel this way, like Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. But it wouldn’t really matter to you. The second half of your post shows that you believe in the Bible and will brook no evidence to the contrary. Problem is, there are a whole lot of folks who don’t, more every year. And this being America, you have to cope with that.
The Constitution was not based on the Bible. Nowhere in the Bible does it explain the electoral college or the Bill of Rights or state rights. The fact that many of the founding fathers were Christians has no bearing on how we run our country. Interesting that your Ben Franklin quote implies he favored a state-run religion, instead of the no state religion clause in the Constitution.
